David Wayne — Traverse City - Michigan - USA doğumlu, 1914-01-30. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. David Wayne, kariyeri yaklaşık 50 yılı kapsayan bir Amerikan aktördür. Asıl adı Wayne James McMeekan olan Wayne, Traverse City, Michigan'da doğmuş ve Bloomingdale, Michigan'da büyümüştür. Broadway'deki ilk önemli rolü, "Finian's Rainbow" adlı yapımda Og isimli leprechaun karakteridir. Bu performansı ile Theatre World Award ve En İyi Yardımcı Erkek Oyuncu dalında ilk Tony Ödülü'nü kazanmıştır. Aynı dönemde, yapımcı David O. Selznick tarafından "Portrait of Jennie" filminde İrlandalı karakterler oynaması için davet edilmiştir. 1948 yılında, yaklaşık 700 başvuru arasından seçilen 50 şanslı kişiden biri olarak New York'taki yeni kurulan Actors Studio'ya kabul edilmiştir. "The Teahouse of the August Moon" adlı oyundaki performansı ile En İyi Erkek Oyuncu dalında ikinci Tony Ödülü'nü almış, "The Happy Time" ile de En İyi Müzikal Erkek Oyuncu dalında aday gösterilmiştir. Wayne, "Mister Roberts" adlı klasik sahne komedisinde Ensign Pulver rolünü canlandırmış ve "Say, Darling", "After the Fall" ve "Incident at Vichy" gibi yapımlarda da yer almıştır.
