Alfred Hitchcock — Leytonstone, London, England, UK doğumlu, 1899-08-13. Yönetmenlik alanında tanınır. Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock, sinema dünyasına 1920'lerin başında sessiz filmler için ara yazıları yazarak adım attı. Mühendislik eğitimi almış ve katı bir Katolik ailede büyümüş olan Hitchcock, ilk yönetmenlik deneyimini 1925 yılında Zevk Bahçesi (The Pleasure Garden) ile gerçekleştirdi. Özellikle Kiracı: Bir Londra Sisi Hikayesi (The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog) gibi filmleriyle gerilim türündeki yeteneğini gösterdi. 1939'da Hollywood'a taşınarak büyük bir kariyer dönüşümü yaşadı; Amerika'daki ilk filmi Rebecca (1940) En İyi Film Akademi Ödülü'nü kazanarak onu "Gerilimin Ustası" unvanına taşıdı. 1950'lerde kariyerinin zirvesine ulaşarak Cinayet Var (Dial M for Murder), Arka Pencere (Rear Window) ve Ölüm Korkusu (Vertigo) gibi önemli eserler ortaya koydu. 1960'ta çektiği Sapık (Psycho), modern korku sinemasının temel taşlarını oluşturdu. Televizyon dizisi Alfred Hitchcock Sunar (Alfred Hitchcock Presents) ile de dünya çapında tanınan bir ikon haline geldi.
