Shirley Temple — Santa Monica, California, USA doğumlu, 1928-04-23. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. Shirley Temple Black, Hollywood'un en popüler çocuk yıldızlarından biri olarak 1934'ten 1938'e kadar büyük bir başarı elde etti. 1931 yılında sadece üç yaşındayken film kariyerine başlayan Temple, 1934'te Bright Eyes filmiyle uluslararası üne kavuştu. 1935'te, genç performanslarıyla sinemaya yaptığı katkılardan ötürü özel bir Juvenile Academy Award kazandı. 1930'ların ortalarından sonlarına kadar Curly Top ve Heidi gibi hit filmlerle adından söz ettirdi. Çocukluk dönemindeki popülaritesini, onun masum imajını yansıtan lisanslı ürünlerle değerlendirdi; bu ürünler arasında oyuncak bebekler, tabaklar ve giysiler yer aldı. Ancak, ergenliğe girdiğinde gişe başarısı azalmaya başladı. 1950'de 22 yaşında sinemadan emekli oldu. 1958'de televizyona döndü ve masal uyarlamalarından oluşan bir antoloji dizisi sundu. 1969'dan itibaren diplomasi alanında da aktif olarak görev aldı ve Birleşmiş Milletler Genel Kurulu'nda Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'ni temsil etti.
