John Gielgud — London, England doğumlu, 1904-04-14. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. Sir Arthur John Gielgud, İngiliz aktör, yönetmen ve prodüktördür. Ünlü Terry oyunculuk ailesinin bir ferdi olan Gielgud, 1937'deki genç ve duygusal Hamlet yorumu ile uluslararası alanda büyük bir başarı elde ederek Broadway'de gişe rekorları kırmıştır. Güzel bir diksiyona sahip olması ve özellikle sıcak, etkileyici sesi ile tanınan Gielgud'un sesi, meslektaşı Sir Alec Guinness tarafından ipekle örtülmüş bir gümüş trompet olarak tarif edilmiştir. Gielgud, Oscar, Emmy, Grammy ve Tony Ödülü gibi prestijli ödüllerin sahibi olan nadir sanatçılardan biridir.
