Hugh Laurie — Oxford, England, UK doğumlu, 1959-06-11. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. James Hugh Calum Laurie, çok yönlü bir İngiliz sanatçı olarak aktörlük, komedi, yazarlık ve müzisyenlik alanlarında tanınmaktadır. Kariyerine Eton Koleji ve Cambridge Üniversitesi'nde antropoloji eğitimi alarak başlayan Laurie, üniversitedeyken katıldığı "Cambridge Footlights" komedi kulübünde Stephen Fry ve Emma Thompson ile tanıştı. Bu üçlü, 1981 Edinburgh Fringe Festivali'nde "The Cellar Tapes" adlı revü ile büyük bir başarı elde etti. 1980'ler ve 1990'lar boyunca, özellikle Fry ile olan işbirliği sayesinde İngiliz televizyonunun sevilen simalarından biri haline geldi. "A Bit of Fry & Laurie" ve "Jeeves and Wooster" gibi projelerde yer alarak komedi dünyasında kendine sağlam bir yer edindi. Laurie, uluslararası üne kavuşmasını ise 2004-2012 yılları arasında yayımlanan "House M.D." dizisindeki Gregory House karakteri ile sağladı.
