Torin Thatcher — Bombay, British India, India doğumlu, 1905-01-15. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. Torin Thatcher, İngiliz bir aktör olarak dikkat çeken bir figürdü. Bombay, Britanya Hindistanı'nda doğan Thatcher, eğitimini Bedford School ve Kraliyet Drama Sanatları Akademisi'nde aldı. 1927'de Londra sahnelerinde oyunculuk kariyerine adım atan Thatcher, 1934'te Britanya filmlerine geçiş yaptı. 1937'deki Hamlet prodüksiyonunda Laurence Olivier ile birlikte sahne aldı. İkinci Dünya Savaşı sırasında Kraliyet Topçuluğu'nda görev yaptı ve albay rütbesiyle terhis edildi. 1930'ların sonu ve 1940'ların başında Major Barbara (1941) ve Great Expectations (1946) gibi klasik İngiliz filmlerinde rol aldı. 1950'lerde Hollywood'a taşınan Thatcher, The Crimson Pirate (1952) ve The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958) gibi kostüm gerilimlerinde sıkça görüldü. Broadway'de Edward, My Son (1948) ve The Miracle Worker (1959) gibi önemli yapımlarda yer aldı. Ayrıca televizyon projelerinde de aktifti ve Othello gibi eserlerde başrol oynadı. 1981'de kanser nedeniyle hayatını kaybetti.
