Ray Harryhausen — Los Angeles, California, USA doğumlu, 1920-06-29. Görsel efekt alanında tanınır. Ray Harryhausen, görsel efektler alanında önemli bir yaratıcı, yazar ve prodüktördür. 1960'tan itibaren Londra'da yaşamış ve 2013 yılında vefat etmiştir. "Dynamation" adı verilen bir stop-motion model animasyon tekniği geliştirmiştir. Harryhausen'ın en dikkat çekici eserleri arasında, 1949'da özel efektler dalında Akademi Ödülü kazanan Mighty Joe Young filmi, ilk renkli filmi olan The 7th Voyage of Sinbad ve yedi iskelet savaşçısına karşı unutulmaz bir kılıç dövüşü sahnesi içeren Jason and the Argonauts yer almaktadır. Bu eserler, Harryhausen'ın sinema dünyasına yaptığı katkıların ve yaratıcılığının önemli örneklerindendir.
