LL Cool J — Bay Shore, Long Island, New York, USA doğumlu, 1968-01-14. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. James Todd Smith, daha çok LL Cool J adıyla bilinen Amerikalı rapçi, söz yazarı, prodüktör ve aktör, ticari başarıya ulaşan ilk rapçilerden biridir. 1984 yılında Def Jam Recordings ile sözleşme imzalayan sanatçının çıkış noktası "I Need a Beat" adlı tekli ve 1985'teki ilk albümü Radio oldu. LL Cool J, Bigger and Deffer (1987), Walking with a Panther (1989), Mama Said Knock You Out (1990) gibi albümleriyle büyük ticari ve eleştirel başarı elde etti. İki kez Grammy Ödülü kazanan sanatçı, "Going Back to Cali", "I'm Bad", "Rock the Bells" gibi hip hop parçalarının yanı sıra "Doin' It" ve "Hey Lover" gibi R&B hitleriyle de tanınmaktadır. 2010'da VH1, onu "Tüm Zamanların En İyi 100 Sanatçısı" listesine aldı. 2017'de Kennedy Center Honors ödülünü alan ilk rapçi oldu ve 2021'de Rock and Roll Hall of Fame'e kabul edildi.
