Joe Besser — Saint Louis, Missouri, USA doğumlu, 1907-08-12. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. Joe Besser (asıl adı Jessel Besser), yaramaz mizah anlayışı ve zayıf karakterli rolleriyle tanınan Amerikalı bir aktör, komedyen ve müzisyendi. En çok, 1957-59 yıllarında çekilen kısa filmlerde The Three Stooges ekibinde kısa süreli üyeliğiyle hatırlanır. Ayrıca televizyon rolleriyle de akıllarda yer etti: The Abbott and Costello Show'da yaramaz çocuk karakteri Stinky ve The Joey Bishop Show'da bakım görevlisi Jillson. Broadway revülerinde hızlı tempolu şarkı ve skeçlerle tanınan Olsen ve Johnson'ın kaçık komedi ekibi, sıra dışı çıkışlarının programlarına uyduğunu görerek Besser'i işe aldı. Bu performansları Shubert kardeşlerin dikkatini çekince onunla tiyatro sözleşmesi imzalandı.
