James Mason — Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England, UK doğumlu, 1909-05-15. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. James Mason, İngiliz sinemasında olduğu kadar Amerikan sinemasında da derin izler bırakan bir oyuncuydu. Kariyerine 1930'larda Londra'nın West End sahnelerinde performanslarıyla dikkat çekerek başladı ve 1935 yapımı İngiliz filmi "Late Extra" ile beyazperdeye adım attı. Kariyeri boyunca karmaşık ve ahlaki açıdan belirsiz karakterleri canlandırmadaki üstün yeteneğiyle öne çıktı; etkileyici duruşu, kendine özgü sesi ve çok yönlü oyunculuğu sayesinde dram, gerilim ve dönem filmleri arasında rahatlıkla geçiş yapabiliyordu. En beğenilen performanslarından biri, 1945 yapımı "Odd Man Out" filminde yaralı bir İrlandalı milliyetçi olan Johnny McQueen'i canlandırdığı roldü ve bu performans onu saygın bir başrol oyuncusu konumuna taşıdı. Filmografisinde "The Wicked Lady" (1945), "Pandora and the Flying Dutchman" (1951), "A Star Is Born" (1954), "North by Northwest" (1959) ve "Lolita" (1962) gibi unutulmaz yapımlar yer alır.
