Ethel Merman — Astoria, New York, USA doğumlu, 1908-01-16. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. Ethel Merman, güçlü sesi ve müzikal tiyatrodaki performanslarıyla tanınan Amerikalı bir aktris ve şarkıcıydı. Kendisinden "müzikal komedi sahnesinin tartışmasız First Lady'si" diye söz edilmiştir. Broadway müzikallerinde seslendirdiği ve klasikleşen pek çok şarkı arasında "I Got Rhythm", "Everything's Coming Up Roses", "I Get a Kick Out of You", "It's De-Lovely", "Friendship", "You're the Top" ve "Anything Goes" yer almaktadır. Bunlara ek olarak, sonradan kendi imza parçası haline gelen "There's No Business Like Show Business" da yine Merman'ın sahneye taşıdığı ve tanıttığı unutulmaz eserler arasındadır.
