Sig Ruman — Hamburg, Germany doğumlu, 1884-10-10. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. Sig Ruman, gösterişli ve genellikle klişeleşmiş Alman tavırlı yetkilileri ya da kötü karakterleri canlandırmasıyla tanınan Alman-Amerikalı bir oyuncuydu. Sinema kariyerine 1929 yapımı Lucky Boy filmiyle başladı. Marx Brothers'ın gözde oyuncularından biri haline gelerek A Night at the Opera, A Day at the Races ve A Night in Casablanca filmlerinde rol aldı. Belirgin Alman aksanı ve iri yapısı, İkinci Dünya Savaşı döneminde onu sürekli çalışan bir isim haline getirdi; bu dönemde bir dizi savaş temalı gerilim filminde tehlikeli Nazi karakterlerini canlandırdı. Aynı dönemde yönetmen Ernst Lubitsch'in Ninotchka ve To Be or Not to Be gibi filmlerinde de yer aldı. Ruman, kariyerinin ilerleyen yıllarında da abartılı Alman karakterlerini canlandırmayı sürdürdü ve Billy Wilder'ın The Emperor Waltz, Stalag 17 ile The Fortune Cookie filmlerinde rol aldı.
