Biyografi

Nehemiah Persoff — Jerusalem, Palestine Mandate doğumlu, 1919-08-02. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. Nehemiah Persoff, Amerikalı bir film ve televizyon oyuncusuydu. 1929 yılında ailesiyle birlikte Amerika Birleşik Devletleri'ne göç eden Persoff, 1940'lı yıllarda oyunculukla ilgilenmeye başladı. II. Dünya Savaşı'nda orduya katıldıktan sonra New York Tiyatrosu'nda kariyerine yön verdi. 1947 yılında Actor's Studio'ya kabul edildi ve sinema kariyerine adım attı. "On the Waterfront", "Some Like It Hot", "Al Capone", "The Greatest Story Ever Told", "Voyage of the Damned" gibi önemli filmlerde rol aldı. Ayrıca, Barbra Streisand'ın karakterinin babasını canlandırdığı "Yentl" ve "American Tail" animasyon serisinde "Papa Mousekewitz" sesiyle de tanınır. Persoff, "Five Fingers", "The Twilight Zone", "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" gibi birçok televizyon dizisinde de yer aldı. 1980'lerin ortalarında sağlığı nedeniyle oyunculuk yükünü azaltarak suluboya resim yapmaya yöneldi.
