Michael Rennie — Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, UK doğumlu, 1909-08-25. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. İngiliz oyuncu Michael Rennie, asıl adıyla Eric Alexander Rennie, Essex'in Ilford bölgesinde dünyaya gelmiş ve oyunculuğa olan ilgisiyle Royal Academy of Dramatic Art'ta (RADA) eğitim almıştır. Kariyerine İngiliz tiyatrosunda başlayan Rennie, ardından sinemaya geçiş yapmıştır. 1940'larda Hollywood'a taşınması, tanınırlığını artıran dönüm noktası olmuş; uzun boyu, yumuşak sesi ve yakışıklılığıyla genellikle vakur ve otoriter karakterleri canlandırmıştır. Asıl çıkışını, bilim kurgu klasiği The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) filminde canlandırdığı uzaylı Klaatu rolüyle yapmış; bu performans, filmin barış ve militarizme karşı mesajıyla birleşerek onu unutulmaz kılmıştır. Sonraki yıllarda The Lost World (1960), The 27th Day (1957) ve James Mason ile Pat Boone'un da yer aldığı Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) gibi filmlerde genellikle otorite figürlerini canlandırmıştır
