Louis Calhern — Brooklyn [now in New York City], New York, USA doğumlu, 1895-02-18. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. Louis Calhern, gerçek adıyla Carl Henry Vogt, Amerikalı bir sahne ve sinema oyuncusudur. 1950 yılında "The Magnificent Yankee" filmindeki Oliver Wendell Holmes rolüyle En İyi Erkek Oyuncu dalında Oscar'a aday gösterilmiştir. Kariyerine 1920'lerin başında sessiz filmlerle başlayan Calhern, Lois Weber'in yönettiği "The Blot" gibi önemli projelerde yer almıştır. 1923'te sinemayı bırakmış, ancak sekiz yıl sonra sesli filmlerin ortaya çıkmasıyla geri dönmüştür. 1950'lerde Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer ile yaptığı sözleşme ile zirveye ulaşmış, "Duck Soup" filmindeki Ambassador Trentino karakteri gibi unutulmaz roller üstlenmiştir. Ayrıca, "Annie Get Your Gun"da Buffalo Bill, "The Asphalt Jungle"da Marilyn Monroe'nun avukatı ve "Julius Caesar"da başrol oynamıştır. Diğer önemli yapımları arasında "The Red Pony" ve "Notorious" da bulunmaktadır. Calhern, son olarak "High Society" filminde Uncle Willie rolü ile izleyici karşısına çıkmıştır.
