Francis Ford Coppola — Detroit, Michigan, USA doğumlu, 1939-04-07. Yönetmenlik alanında tanınır. Francis Ford Coppola, Amerikalı bir film yapımcısı olarak Hollywood'un en tanınmış ve etkili yönetmenlerinden biri olarak kabul edilmektedir. 1970'lerin başında ortaya çıkan Yeni Hollywood akımının bir parçası olarak, George Lucas, Martin Scorsese ve Woody Allen gibi isimlerle birlikte, geleneksel film yapımına meydan okuyan yenilikçi fikirler geliştirmiştir. 1970 yılında Patton filminin senaryosunu yazmasıyla Akademi Ödülü kazanmış, ardından 1972'deki The Godfather ile yönetmenlik kariyerinde büyük bir sıçrama yapmıştır.
