Cyndi Lauper — Ozone Park, Queens, New York City, New York, USA doğumlu, 1953-06-22. Oyunculuk alanında tanınır. Cyndi Lauper, Amerika kökenli bir şarkıcı, söz yazarı, aktris ve LGBT hakları savunucusudur. Kariyeri dört on yılı aşkın bir süreyi kapsamaktadır. 1983 yılında çıkardığı ilk solo albümü "She's So Unusual", ticari başarı elde ederek Billboard Hot 100'de dört top-five hit ile listelenen ilk kadın debut albümü olmuştur. Bu albümdeki "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "Time After Time", "She Bop" ve "All Through the Night" gibi şarkılar, Lauper’a 1985 Grammy Ödülleri'nde En İyi Yeni Sanatçı ödülünü kazandırmıştır. 1986'da yayımladığı "True Colors" albümü, aynı isimi taşıyan birinci sıradaki hitin yanı sıra "Change of Heart" ile de dikkat çekmiştir. Lauper, kariyeri boyunca dokuz stüdyo albümü yayımlamış ve son albümü "Memphis Blues" ile Billboard'un en başarılı blues albümü unvanını kazanmıştır. 2011 yılında yayımladığı otobiyografisi, çocuk istismarı ve depresyon ile mücadelesini konu alarak New York Times En Çok Satanlar listesine girmiştir. Ayrıca, 2013'te yazdığı "Kinky Boots" müzikali, Tony Ödülleri’nde altı ödül kazanarak Lauper’ı bu alanda solo olarak en iyi besteci yapan ilk kadın yapmıştır. Lauper, kariyeri boyunca 40’tan fazla single yayımlamış ve 80 milyonun üzerinde albüm satışı gerçekleştirmiştir.
